Business Process Simulator
Draw your process, give each step a time and each team its people, then press ▶. The simulator runs hundreds of cases through it and shows where work piles up, how long a case really takes, what it costs, and what happens if you add a person or remove a step.
- Find the bottleneck: which step makes cases wait, and why
- Time per case (average and 90th percentile) and cost per case
- How busy each team is (utilisation per lane)
- What-if: add staff, speed up a step or skip it, side by side
- Works on swimlanes, BPMN and flowcharts
- The board glows where work piles up
How it works
- Draw or generate your process (swimlane, BPMN or flowchart)
- Add step times, team sizes and decision chances
- Press ⏱ Simulate → ▶ Run
- Try what-ifs and share the report
Try it with
- Insurance claim handling
- Support ticket escalation
- Loan approval
- Employee onboarding
Frequently asked questions
What does the process simulator do?
It runs hundreds of cases through your process using the times, team sizes and decision chances you enter (a discrete-event simulation). Cases queue when a team is busy, exactly like real work, so you see waiting time, cycle time, cost per case and the bottleneck.
Do I need to know simulation or statistics?
No. Enter how long a step usually takes (and optionally its fastest and slowest time), how many people each team has, and how often each decision goes each way. Open a ready-to-simulate template to see it working in one click.
Is it free?
Running simulations and seeing the bottleneck is free. Pro adds what-if comparisons (more staff, faster steps, skipping steps side by side) and downloadable reports.
Which diagrams can be simulated?
Swimlane diagrams (each lane is a team), BPMN diagrams with tasks, gateways (including parallel splits and joins) and timer events, and plain flowcharts with one shared team.
Can I export it?
Yes — PNG, SVG, PDF, PowerPoint with an editable slide, Mermaid code and draw.io. You can also share a live link or present it full screen.
